Community Champions for Prevention Lunch Bunch

Event Date:
Monday, January 26, 2015 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

MassTAPP will host a “lunch bunch”, or peer networking call, for communities across the state that are interested in learning more about how others are identifying, cultivating, and utilizing community champions for prevention in their communities.

What is a community champion, you ask? It could be a District Attorney that decided to utilize drug seizure money and put it towards evidence-based substance misuse programs in schools, a police chief who mandates his force carry Narcan, a superintendent who understands the importance of using school funds to conduct the YRBS, a parent who advocates to legislators for an alcohol ad ban on town property, or a youth who started a S.A.D.D. chapter in their school….the possibilities are endless!

Lunch Bunches are NOT webinars!  They are informal opportunities to connect with your colleagues across the state around a particular topic, so come prepared to talk about your coalition work and listen to others share what they’ve been doing. Of course, feel free to eat your lunch during the call—but please mute your line when chewing! ;)

Participants will have the opportunity to share successes and discuss challenges in involving community champions in their prevention efforts. Registration will be capped at 15 people to allow for a more intimate discussion, so register at the link below now!
